Effectiveness of combining main product and ancillary texts under 40 characters
1. How effective is the combination of your
main product and ancillary texts?
2. Both the Digi-pak and advert we made are similar in a
number of different ways they both contain the same
background and the same triangle image and font this
helps create a cohesive image of the band. We did this as
many of the bands we researched had a similar
convention and so it was necessary to make then similar
to remain with conventions. The main album image of
album is also kept the same as we it helps the Digi-Pak
remain similar and recognisable to each other as well as
because we saw numerous similar examples during
research.
3. We always had the lead singer in the centre as this is
often a convention done by indie bands and it was
consistent in both the music video and in the Digi-pak
and helps re-enforce the image of the band this way by
having the band spread across the different products
we created rather then having large differences
between our products. however we did no do this in
the magazine advert. As we did not see many
magazine adverts with the bands on them but we saw
several that included the album image or something
different and so we stuck to this convention.
4. The Digi-pak helps sell the album by having the same
image helps the advert and Digi-pak greatly relate to
each other because the image is repeated throughout
the media and helps make the image instantly
recognisable and relatable to the band. It also helps
create a larger image of the band and makes the We also included a release
image itself more significant like the rolling stones date for album on the

create a run up for the
release of the album and
help the audience get
engaged with the product
before its released.
It was important that on the advert that we
included a number of reviews from different
album magazines in order to reinforce the
bands image of having critical acclaim and to
help sell the album by the audience by it being
favoured by magazines and giving it an
additional selling point among those who do
not usually listen to the Indie genre.
