This document proposes the creation of a Sustainable Tourism Pilot Program in Nevada that would leverage existing efforts to protect Lake Tahoe and its watershed. The program would involve collaborative instruction from various institutions on sustainable habitat and land management. It would establish a dedicated team of "Nevada Travel Rangers" and create a roadmap to measure, monitor and sustain tourism impacts over time. The goal is to find ways to make political collaboration on sustainability a renewable resource for Nevada.

20. “…A program on Sustainable Tourism would be very valuable.
I was disappointed when I saw that UNR does not have a sustainability
management program as I am interested in going to grad school for this. I
think your proposed program would fill this space nicely and ignite some
much needed sustainable ingenuity in the basin.
Again, thank you for the work you're doing. I am so early in my career but I
hope to move in the direction of sustainable business / tourism and your work
is very inspiring.”
