Setting up your science notebook
1. Warm Up
1. Turn in your lab safety contract to the blue
folder for your class.
2. Take out your Dare Mighty Things card.
3. Start numbering your notebook pages. Start
with the first page, and number the front and
back of every page.

notebook:
MISSION LOG
Your guide to the World and Beyond!
3. Have you ever said…
I lost my homework.
I can’t find my test/quiz/lab.
I was absent, did I miss anything?
What did we do in class yesterday? I
don’t remember!
4. If so, the mission log is the
answer!
We’re calling it our
Mission Log this
year!
5. So what is it?
Your diary of science learning.
All of your science work in one spot so
it’s all easy to find!
It keeps you organized but let’s you be
creative.
And it’s all about being a real scientist!

Special thanks to Thomas.
◦ I “rescued” his notebook from
the recycle bin in May so I
could show you some real
examples of science
notebooking in our class. (I
sure hope he doesn’t mind!)
