Degree Overview
The Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) Degrees are designed as a learner-centered degree
program that provides specific program learning outcomes. Students who successfully complete the
BAS degree program will gain technical hands-on skills to include case studies and a capstone
project, which will include analysis and problem solving through simulations and similar activities.

Admission Information
The following are required for admission into the Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.S.) degree program:
An Associate in Science (A.S.) or an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree from a regionally
accredited institution.
A cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale in all post-secondary coursework.
Students who have earned an A.S. or A.A.S. degree will have completed a minimum of 15 college
credits of transferable general education coursework and will complete the remaining general
education requirements as part of the B.A.S. degree program.
Students with an Associate in Arts (A.A.) degree or 60 credit hours without a degree may be
admitted to the program upon the recommendation of the Dean for Student Affairs and the Dean for
Business, Technology, and Management.
New students to Broward College must complete the Broward College admissions application.
Pay the $35 non-refundable application fee, and complete the supplemental application for the
Bachelor of Applied Science degree program.
Students currently attending Broward College who wish to apply for the B.A.S. degree program are
required to complete the supplemental program application. Please use the following link:

Transfer students must submit an application for admission to Broward College, pay the $35 non-
refundable application fee and complete the supplemental application for the Bachelor of Applied
Science degree program. Transfer students must also submit official transcript(s) from all previously
attended postsecondary institutions to the District Registrar’s office at the Willis Holcombe Center,
225 E. Las Olas Blvd., Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33301.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the admission requirements?
Eligible applicants are those who have earned at a minimum, an Associate of Science (A.S.) or an
Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) from a regionally accredited institution and who have at least
a 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Applicants will be required to complete an educational

I have an Associate of Arts degree. Am I eligible to be admitted to the Bachelor of Applied
Science degree program?
Yes. Students who have earned an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree from a regionally accredited
institution may also apply and be admitted with the recommendation of the Dean for Business,
Technology, and Management and Dean for Student Affairs. To begin this process, students should

I have sixty (60) college credits without a degree. Am I eligible to be admitted to the
Bachelor of Applied Science degree program?
Yes. Students who have earned at least 60 college credits from a regionally accredited institution
but have yet to receive a degree may also apply and be admitted with the recommendation of the
Dean for Business, Technology, and Management and the Dean for Student Affairs. To begin this
process, students are required to meet with the Student Success Coordinator for the Bachelor of
Applied Science degree program.
May I attend full-time or part-time?
Yes. The Bachelor of Applied Science degree program is designed for the working adult who seeks
flexible class scheduling in an accelerated format.
Are there application deadlines for the Bachelor of Applied Science degree program?
3. No. We anticipate that this program will be in great demand, and we will seat students on a first
come first serve basis. Plan early to secure your place in this exciting new program.
Is financial assistance available?
Financial assistance and scholarships are available to those who qualify.

The application for admission to the College and the supplemental application for admission to the
Bachelor of Applied Science degree program are available on the Broward College web site at
