Ideas about time. There are many ideas presented about TIME in Lola. Time is a tyrant that controls us We can fight the tyranny of time by slowing down. Time is cyclic. We end up where we started, but our perception has changed. Good human relationships take time There is a link between what we do in the present, what we will do in the future and what we have done in the past.
Issues of time – Run Lola Run, first time through the quest
Connect each of the following to one aspect of time (as identified on the first slide) Red stop sign “Why the rush?” Schuster to Lola. “I’ve got to go in a minute – Lola’s father to his lover. Lola screams so loud that the clock smashes Lola doesn’t know how to work the gun in the hold-up.
Tom Twkyer suggests that we can fight the control of time by slowing down. The red stop sign is used to suggest this. The sign is an imperative to stop. This is something that Lola fails to do in either of the first two runs through. The consequences of her rushing are that she fails to notice the casino that is in front of her, and which ultimately grants her the money that she so desires. If she had heeded the sign, and stopped, she would have noticed the casnio, and therefore could have prevented the disasters that occurred in the first two runs. Here is JE’s demonstration of how you can turn one of these statements into a paragraph, by supporting it with the still and some thorough discussion.
