Small groups are done during Free Play in the Interest areas. These are the Changes to Interest area Based on Children’s Interests/Study:
Dramatic Play (V): Addition of tent,
animal costumes, and insect wings.
Discovery (M): seeds in window bags,
seeds in blocks, Frogscottle, to observe
with magnifying glass
Library (K): Books about gardens
/plants added as well as food felt
board materials.
Sensory table (E): Dirt, shovels, play
food
Art (E): Egg cartons, foam stickers, and
pom-poms added to lose materials
containers, finger painting on table
with clay available
Cooking/Table Toys (K): Nest & eggs
tweezer game, bugs building toys, peg
pictures, jumping frogs, and numbered
lily pads.
Technology (M): Parts of a plant
smartboard game
Music (R/L): shakers, to imitate the
rain helping plants grow
Large motor (M/V): Bikes in play yard
and courtyard garden.
Blocks (R/L): farm scenery, more
fences, farm vehicles, and farm
animals, ball blocks, big car mountain
Writing (V): Sticks added to the
writing table to make letters with.
