Dear Veteran,
Veteran’s Day is an important day for Americans. In school we study past events in which our
soldiers have fought bravely and with honor to defend our freedoms. Many of us know one of the
soldiers of today that include both men and women. Today’s heroes are fighting a war on terror and like
Veteran’s before them, make personal sacrifices for us all. Not everyone can be a soldier. It takes a
special person to take up arms to defend our nation.
On this Veteran’s Day, 2013, the middle school students at Seneca Middle School wish to thank you
for your service. We can only try to understand all that you have witnessed on our behalf. It is our hope
that there will one day be an everlasting peace among nations. History has shown us that there are
challenges that have been and seem to persist. Perhaps our generation will make a difference like yours
did. We hope to keep protecting the freedoms that are synonymous with our democracy and hold the
example of valor displayed by our veterans as a benchmark for the future.
Thank you for your service in our Armed Forces. We salute you.
Sincerely,
Pamela B.
