Modular Distance Learning( MDL)
PRINTED MODULES refer to competency-specific materials that cover the key
elements of a lesson, from motivation, instruction, to assessment.
Printed modules are prepared for learners who have limited access or have
absolutely NO ACCESS to internet and digital device.
HOW PRINTED MODULES CAN BE
USED
Teachers
distribute modules
at the start of the
month.
Parents will guide
learners as they
read through the
module. They can
also consult with
the teachers via
SMS.
During the week,
parents will take
note of which
strategies worked
and what support
they still need for
modular learning.
The teachers will
arrange to collect
the outputs of the
students every
end of the week.
To our Regional Director Dr. Nicolas Capulong, Assistant Regional Director, Dr. Rhoda T. Razon, CESO V, our CLMD Chief, Dr. Lebrada M. Rubio, to our Regional EPS in TLE sir Reynaldo Castillo, to my fellow Education Program supervisors, Facilitators and participants; a pleasant afternoon to everyone. My task is to present to you the teaching and Learning Process in the New Normal.
Let us start with the overall goal of the DepEd.
The impact of COVID 19 on education is felt worldwide. About 1.1B learners are affected by the Pandemic with 123 country-wide closures. Studies show that long vacation of students breaks the rhythm of instruction, leads to forgetting, and requires a significant amount of review material when they return to school.
SLMB addressed the nation with her statements. Teaching…..
The President himself expressed admiration of the program of the DepEd on learning delivery. On the question of funding, he said he will scrape the barrel. Indeed, the government puts high priority to Education amidst the Pandemic.
The direction of the President.
I intentionally put this on my slide because this is where we will base our context when we talk about the learning modalities.
The Department of Education ( DepEd) is one with the President in his non-negotiable commitment for the health and safety of our learners, teachers, and staff.
Let’s have two of the the Frequently Asked Questions. READ THE FAQs.
The changing nature of education make learners designers of their knowledge, realities, and interests. Teachers are expected to be innovators, designers of learning resource, and GUIDE.
Assessment will be varied, and less of traditional assessments.
The Education Resilience Learning Continuity Plan of the UP College of Education indicates the recommendations for the maximum time for student engagement in remote learning. Also, the World Health Organization prescribed screen time exposure limit for learners in different age groups. These shall be considered in the guidelines to be released by the DepEd.
