45. Good Morning…
My name is Jay Gross. I am here today to talk to you about Communicating with today’s students
through technology. Let us take a moment and define communication. Dictionary.com defines
communication as:
the act or process of communicating; fact of being communicated.
the imparting or interchange of thoughts, opinions, or information by speech, writing, or signs.
something imparted, interchanged, or transmitted.
a document or message imparting news, views, information, etc.
passage, or an opportunity or means of passage, between places.
My Purpose today is give you some new ideas on how to exchange ideas with students.
I also want you to take a chance and step outside your comfort zones.
If there is time, I would like to tell you some stories.
So let us now talk about technology. Dictionary.com defines technology as:
the branch of knowledge that deals with the creation and use of technical means and their
interrelation with life, society, and the environment, drawing upon such subjects as industrial arts,
engineering, applied science, and pure science.
the terminology of an art, science, etc.; technical nomenclature.
a scientific or industrial process, invention, method, or the like.
the sum of the ways in which social groups provide themselves with the material objects of their
civilization.
Now that we have that straight, how do students today communicate?
