The Broward County Aviation Department will hold an informational meeting on March 7, 2011 at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of their administrative offices to present and get public input on their Draft Noise Mitigation Plan for neighborhoods affected by the expansion of the South Runway at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The proposed plan would offer noise mitigation to eligible residential properties located west of I-95 between specific boundaries that could be impacted by increased noise from the expanded runway.

Airport Director Kent George will present and solicit
input on the Draft Noise Mitigation Plan from residents
located within the neighborhoods affected by the
expansion of the South Runway (9R/27L).
A proposed Noise Mitigation Program will be offered to
eligible residential properties located west of I-95 between
Griffin Rd. to the south and the Dania Cut-Off Canal to the
north, SW 36th Ave. to the west and SW 21st Ave. on the east.
