- 3. Sorry, but unless you’re a
celebrity, your audience
really doesn’t want to hear
much about you.
- 4. 2
‘First, I need
to apologize
for…’
- 5. DON’T apologize for
anything (language skills,
lack of time or preparation
etc). It makes you look
weak.
- 6. 3
‘Please save
your
questions
until the end.’
- 7. You are not giving a
speech. A presentation is
meant to be interactive.
Allow your audience to be
involved.
- 8. 4 ‘That reminds
me of a joke.’
- 9. You are not a comedian.
Jokes in presentations are
rarely funny and almost

do it.
- 10. 5
‘I know you
can’t see this
graph very
well, but…’
- 11. If your slide is unreadable

boring, but…’
- 13. If you don’t have passion

shouldn’t be presenting it.
- 14. 7
‘I hope you

- 15. Don’t use the word ‘hope’.
Be confident that you
made a difference and tell
them how!
