2. INTRODUCTION
The Unistrut Metal Framing
system and related products have
been used in the industrial sector
for several generations.
Currently manufactured by
Atkore International, Unistrut
struts, fittings, channels, planks,
and other products continue to
find a home in many types of
industrial environments. Let’s
examine the Unistrut product
line in more detail.
3. In 1924, Charles Attwood invented Unistrut, "the original metal framing system."
This weldless system provided industries with an easily adjustable metal framing
that quickly came to be used by companies across the land.
Since these early days, the Unistrut line has been substantially expanded to include
a wide array of support system products.
WHAT IS UNISTRUT?
4. THE UNISTRUT
ADVANTAGE
One of the most attractive
features of the Unistrut Metal
Framing system is the ease
with which it can be assembled
and disassembled.
No welding or drilling
equipment is needed to secure
the materials. The bolts can be
tightened with a wrench.
This is a characteristic of many
Unistrut products.
5. PRODUCTS
There are a number of products in the
Unistrut line—and the number
continues to increase. Unistrut
Defender, a corrosion-resistant
framing system, is the latest addition,
introduced in 2014.
The Unistrut line includes the
following:
1. Unistrut Metal Framing
2. Telestrut Telescoping Strut
3. United Interlock Grating
4. Roofwalks Rooftop Walkway

6. UNISTRUT
METAL FRAMING
Unistrut Metal Framing provides a support
system with wide applications. This system
can be used to support switch boxes,
pipework, HVAC units, and much more.
The system is composed of channels, bolts,
and spring nuts. As previously noted, no
welding or drilling is required to hold the
materials together.
Fifteen different channel designs are
available.
7. TELESTRUT
TELESCOPING
STRUT
The Telestrut Telescoping Strut
system allows assemblers to put
together a number of different
support structures, including but not
limited to racks, shelves, and sign
supports.
The system is chiefly composed of
three-sided infinitely adjustable
channels and four-sided
incrementally adjustable tubing.
These can be secured with rivets,
bolts, nuts, gravity pins, or similar
elements.
8. In many industrial environments, it is
essential to provide safe paths for workers
to walk along. The United Interlock Plank
Grating System does just this.
The United Interlock Plank Grating
System is composed of durable yet
lightweight planks that can be laid along
many surfaces, including catwalks,
scaffolding planks, mezzanines, and
pedestrian ramps.
Slotted-smooth surface, anti-skid surface,
and smooth surface planks are available.

9. HVAC technicians and other maintenance professionals frequently need to
access the roof in order to reach important equipment. Roofwalks Rooftop
Walkways gives them a walking surface that keeps them from accidentally
damaging the roofing.
Roofwalks Rooftop Walkways are assembled from planks that can fit onto
virtually any kind of roof,
including standing seam roofs.
Roofwalks planks are made
from aluminum or galvanized
steel.
