The New Internet: When Everything Becomes Smart

Web 3.0 promises to have a significant effect in users and businesses. It will change how people work and play, how companies use information to market and sell their products, as well as operate their businesses. The basic shift occurring in Web 3.0 is from information-centric to knowledge-centric patterns of computing. Web 3.0 will enable people and machines to connect, evolve, share and use knowledge on an unprecedented scale and in new ways that make our experience of the Internet better. Additionally, semantic technologies have the potential to drive significant improvements in capabilities and life cycle economics through cost reductions, improved efficiencies, enhanced effectiveness, and new functionalities that were not possible or economically feasible before. In this paper we look to the semantic web and Web 3.0 technologies as enablers for the creation of value and appearance of new business models. For that, we analyze the role and impact of Web 3.0 in business and we identify nine potential business models, based in direct and undirected revenue sources, which have emerged with the appearance of semantic web technologies.

IoT may sound like a business buzzword, but in reality, it’s a real technological revolution that will impact everything we do. It's the next IT Tsunami of new possibility that is destined to change the face of technology, as we know it. IoT is the interconnectivity between things using wireless communication technology (each with their own unique identifiers) to connect objects, locations, animals, or people to the Internet, thus allowing for the direct transmission of and seamless sharing of data. IoT represents a massive wave of technical innovation. Highly valuable companies will be built and new ecosystems will emerge from bridging the offline world with the online into one gigantic new network. Our limited understanding of the possibilities hinders our ability to see future applications for any new technology. Mainstream adoption of desktop computers and the Internet didn’t take hold until they became affordable and usable. When that occurred, fantastic and creative new innovation ensued. We are on the cusp of that tipping point with the Internet of Things. IoT matters because it will create new industries, new companies, new jobs, and new economic growth. It will transform existing segments of our economy: retail, farming, industrial, logistics, cities, and the environment. It will turn your smartphone into the command center for the both digital and physical objects in your life. You will live and work smarter, not harder – and what we are seeing now is only the tip of the iceberg.

In recent years, the Internet of Things (IOT) has attracted many attentions. It allows a number of objects that have been embedded with wired or wireless communication interfaces to automatically communicate and interact with each other. The IOT is a system, combination of embedded controllers, sensors, software’s and network. After internet and mobile communication, IOT is regarded as the third wave of information because of its huge market prospects. The development of IOT can support a variety of applications including Intelligent Art, Intelligent Logistics, Intelligent Medicine & Healthcare, Intelligent Transportation, Intelligent Power, Smart Life etc. IOT Gateway plays an important role in IOT applications since it bridges between wireless sensor networks with traditional communication networks or internet. This paper includes an IOT Gateway system based on Zigbee and Wi-Fi protocols according to the presented data transmission between wireless sensor networks and mobile communication networks, typical IOT application scenarios and requirements from telecom operators, protocol conversion of different sensor network protocols, and control functionalities for sensor networks, and an implementation of prototyping system and system validation is given.

오늘 5월 15일 '공유경제 가능성과 성장을 위한 정책 방향' 세미나가 있었습니다. 정말 알찬 내용에 유익한 토론의 기회였습니다. 보다 많은 분들과 공유하고 싶은 세미나였습니다. 페북 중계 못한게 아쉽네요. 기재부 국장님께서도 참석해서 정부의 공유경제에 대한 의지를 보여주셨습니다. 저도 발표를 했지만 구자현 한국개발원 연구원님과 박지순 고대교수님의 발제 내용이 너무 좋아서 많이 배웠습니다. 패널토론도 질문과 의견들 너무 좋았습니다. 오늘 행사는 고려대 미래성장연구소와 한국공유경제협회가 중앙일보 후원으로 열렸습니다. -- "출발 늦은 한국 공유경제, 참여 개인 수익 높이면 급성장 가능" 한국이 미국·중국에 비해 공유경제의 출발이 늦었지만, 공유경제 플랫폼에 참여하는 개인이 조합원이 돼 이익을 가져가는 '조합형 공유경제 플랫폼'을 도입하면 추격이 가능하다는 주장이 나왔다. "블록체인 발달로 조합형 플랫폼 구현 가능" 이 자리에서 주제 발표를 맡은 조산구 공유경제협회장은 "우버 같은 공유경제 플랫폼 업체가 상장을 통해 돈잔치를 벌이는 한 편에선 이 플랫폼에 참여한 드라이버들이 상대적으로 낮은 소득에 시달리는 문제가 생기고 있다"고 지적했다. 그러면서 "한국은 (공유경제에 있어서) 이미 출발이 늦은 만큼 플랫폼에 참여하는 개개인을 주인으로 하는 조합형 모델을 도입하면 급성장 가능성이 있다"며 "블록체인 기술이 발전하면서 플랫폼 조합주의의 구현도 가능해졌고, 이를 적극 활용해야 한다"고 말했다. 15일 성루 명동 전국은행연합회 국제회의실에서 공유경제 세미나 참석자들이 패널 토론을 벌이고 있다. 왼쪽부터 구자현 한국개발연구원 연구위원, 김동호 중앙일보 논설위원, 사회자인 방문규 고려대 석좌교수, 조산구 한국공유경제협회장, 한훈 기재부 정책조정국장, 양희동 이대 교수, 최현경 산업연구원 연구위원. "공유 경제 활성화 위해 인프라 공유 필요" 이어진 패널 토론에서도 다양한 지적이 나왔다. 김동호 중앙일보 논설위원은 "올들어 시행 중인 규제샌드박스 심사가 신사업에 대한 또 하나의 관문이 되고 있다"며 "신사업에 대해 중국처럼 '선 시행 후 규제'까지는 못하더라도 규제샌드박스 문턱을 더 낮춰야 한다"고 지적했다. 양희동 이화여대 경영학부 교수는 "공유경제가 활성화하려면 물류 같은 인프라 공유가 필요하다"며 "정부가 할 일은 경제 주체들이 신뢰를 바탕으로 인프라를 공유할 토대를 만드는 것"이라고 말했다. 최현경 산업연구원 연구위원은 "공유경제 활성화를 위해 규제완화를 얘기하지만, 산업별로 갖고 있는 문제점이 다르고 해결방안도 다르다"며 "산업별 해법을 찾기 위한 작업이 필요하다"고 말했다. 토론에 참석한 한훈 기획재정부 정책조정국장은 "정부는 국민편익, 관련산업 발전, 기존 종사자 이익 보호라는 세 가지 기조를 바탕으로 공유경제 활성화 문제에 접근하고 있다"고 말했다. 공유경제, 시민의, 시민에 의한, 시민을 위한 경제 - 조산구 2019 The Sharing Economy of the People, by the People, for the People - SanKu Jo 2019 공유경제는 세기적 흐름이다. 혁신성장과 소득주도성장의 핵심이다. 블록체인과 AI 및 5G와 같은 혁신기술로 공유경제는 날로 진화 중이다. 공유경제는 우리가 접한 많은 사회적 현안을 풀 수 있는 해법이자 미래를 향한 길이다. 이러한 공유경제를 우리는 어떻게 이해하고 어떤 전략으로 어떻게 추진해야할 것인가? 개인 간 유휴자원의 공유로 시작된 공유경제는 시민 중심의 경제로 발전하고 있다. 혁신 기술로 강력해진 개개인이 경제 가치 소비자에서 생산자로서 경제의 중심이 되고 있다. 누구나 경제 가치를 만들고 일상이 사업이 된다. 원할 때 원하는 만큼만 공유로 소유해서 누릴 수 있다. 공유경제로 적은 비용으로 더 편하게 더 많은 것을 더 다양하게 누릴 수 있게 된다. 인류의 생존과 지속성장을 위해서도 공유경제는 인류가 가야할 길이다. 머지않아 공유경제는 일반화될 것이다. 저자는 2012년부터 코자자(KOZAZA)라는 공유숙박 플랫폼 사업을 추진해 왔다. 최근에는 참여자 중심인 블록체인 기반의 조합형 공유숙박 프로젝트인 위홈(Wehome.me)을 추진 중이다. 기재부 산하 사단법인 한국공유경제협회협회장으로서 민간 차원의 공유경제 활성화를 위해서도 활동 중이다. 공유경제는 우리가 가야할 길이다. 공유경제에 대한 이해하고 앞으로 어떻게 대처하고 추진해야할 것인지 진지하게 사색하고 움직여야 할 때이다. 이를 위해서 지난 8년 간 현장에서 체득한 공유경제에 대한 경험과 지식을 공유한다. 개인적으로 누구나 쉽게 접할 수 있도록 오픈북으로 공개한다. 최신 버전은 bit.ly/sharingeconomyjosanku 에서 내려 받을 수 있다. 2019년 2월 10일 조산구

Created by Mozilla Research in 2012 and now part of Linux Foundation Europe, the Servo project is an experimental rendering engine written in Rust. It combines memory safety and concurrency to create an independent, modular, and embeddable rendering engine that adheres to web standards. Stewardship of Servo moved from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation in 2020, where its mission remains unchanged. After some slow years, in 2023 there has been renewed activity on the project, with a roadmap now focused on improving the engine’s CSS 2 conformance, exploring Android support, and making Servo a practical embeddable rendering engine. In this presentation, Rakhi Sharma reviews the status of the project, our recent developments in 2023, our collaboration with Tauri to make Servo an easy-to-use embeddable rendering engine, and our plans for the future to make Servo an alternative web rendering engine for the embedded devices industry.
