the best weather in the world according to the North American
Siracusa University in a study they carried out called “Pleasant weather
ratings”. Furthermore, it was more recently chosen 2017 Atlantic City,
an appointment granted by the European Union for its innovative and
creative policies when it comes to the development of a city by the sea
initiative. Las Palmas was founded in 1478, and it has a significant
historical and cultural heritage that can be mainly seen in the old centre
of the city, Vegueta, declared a Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in
1990.

Our students may design their own courses and choose the activities to
suit their language learning needs. We offer a monthly varied activity
program, fun and exciting, aimed for all ages, profiles and interests. The
flexibility of our courses allows our students to enjoy a complete,
intensive and unique academic experience, since the activities they
choose have a direct effect on their Spanish learning process.

We offer two basic courses: extensive and intensive courses.
EXTENSIVE SPANISH COURSES FOR FOREIGNERS
We offer all levels included in the Common European Framework of
Reference for Languages (A1/A2/B1/B2/C1/C2).
Courses with a communicational and dynamic approach aimed for all
levels and profiles, perfect for just about anyone who is interested in the
language or who wishes to prepare for an official exam, a trip or
exchange with students from Spanish speaking countries, among
others.
We work with all language skills using a communicational methodology
that combines grammar, vocabulary and culture to reach the highest
development of linguistic and communicational skills.
Courses consist of 4 hours a week and may be combined with private
classes, virtual activities, conversation classes and/or cultural and
leisure activities.
INTENSIVE SPANISH COURSES FOR FOREIGNERS
These courses are aimed for adults and young adults who wish to learn
Spanish intensively, by means of a range of educational and extra
activities. We offer all levels included in the Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages (A1/A2/B1/B2/C1/C2).
These courses have a significant cultural aspect. We use high quality
manuals, virtual resources and up-to-date learning materials, according
to the students’ academic and work-related interests.
All our courses aim to develop students’ communicational and linguistic

Courses designed for different work and knowledge environments:
business, hotel industry, tourism, sports and health. In each of
them, students will be offered the support of activities related to their
scope and professional area, in order to improve and reach the
necessary communicational, linguistic and cultural skills.
Our courses are for professionals who wish to work in Spain or in
Latin America, and need to communicate in Spanish in order to be
able to do so. We intend to provide the necessary linguistic tools to
make the most of all opportunities students may come across in their
professional path and in business, in a Spanish speaking environment.

We offer intensive courses that promote fast and effective learning
based on a professional communicational approach, focused on
developing language skills within different areas of knowledge related to
the work market, as well as business protocol and the business culture
in the Spanish speaking world.
Depending on the students’ interests, courses can adapt to the
business and work market culture of Spain or Latin American countries,
especially pointing out the differences between specific vocabulary,

slang, colloquialisms and idioms used in the different geographic areas
where Spanish is spoken. Our teachers have the required academic
and cultural training to be able to offer our customers the diversity of a
vast and rich language such as Spanish. We can guarantee that our

skills, knowledge and communicational and cultural awareness, which
will improve their professional and business performance.

Once students have reached the necessary skills in Spanish, our school
offers them the chance to prepare for the different certificates supported
by the Cervantes Institute and USAL International Courses: DELE,
SIELE and BULATS.
DELE: official titles that certify the skill and command of the Spanish
language, granted by the Cervantes Institute on behalf of the Spanish
Ministry for Education, Culture and Sports. We offer all MCER
preparation levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2.
SIELE: the International Spanish Language Assessment Service. A
service that assesses and certifies students’ command of the Spanish
language using electronic means, for students and professionals. This
is a digital, adaptable, user-friendly, international and high-quality
service, aimed for students and professionals who wish to certify their
Spanish language skills quickly and globally, or for a specific skill:
reading, writing, comprehension, speaking.
BULATS: a multilingual foreign language assessment system that
quickly, reliably and affordably determines the command of the
language students have, in a professional context. This certification is
supported by the International Courses of the University of Salamanca.

Our courses have been designed to offer a unique learning experience,
in an ideal environment and a high quality educational system. For this
reason, as well as the number of class hours selected, each course
also includes the following extra activities:
Virtual activities:
Virtual resources are available for students to practice their grammar
and listening skills (podcast, music videos, series, trailers, adverts, etc).
Their teacher will be with them in class, answering any possible
questions that may arise, and making sure that tasks are completed.

Conversation classes:
There will be reading club sessions, as well as cinema and current
affairs sessions (news, social issues and current affairs, which helps
acquire specific vocabulary). The topics used in conversation class will
rotate monthly.
Extra curricular activities:
Every course has 3 extra academic, cultural and artistic activities.
Students may include other activities for an additional fee. During these
activities, students will be in contact with other students with different
levels of Spanish and different nationalities.
One-to-one lessons:
In addition to the ones included in each course, students may request
one-to-one classes for an additional fee.

Enjoying the weather and natural and cultural wonders of Las Palmas
de Gran Canaria whilst living and studying in the city, is a must. For that
reason, we have designed and programmed a range of activities that
will help students make the most of nature, get to know the local
gastronomy and Spanish traditional festivities, do water sports on our
beautiful beaches, etc.
Students may combine their chosen course with other activities in order
to practise their Spanish and learn new vocabulary. For an additional
fee, students may include as many activities as they wish. Every week,
there will be surfing classes, diving, football, cooking and hiking.

ELE USAL GRAN CANARIA offers a personalized assistance service
for any procedures necessary during students’ stay in the city.
For an additional fee, our specialized team will assist students with
administrative and medical issues.
ELE USAL GRAN CANARIA does not manage student accommodation
directly, however, we do have an agreement with a renowned travel
agency in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria called Turisbeds. The contact
