It favors high productivity but is unsustainable. 2) Small farms using agroecological practices occupy less than 25% of farmland but produce 60-70% of the world's food on lower yields. They are more socially and environmentally resilient. 3) The current industrialized food system cannot be maintained for more than 50 years due to its negative environmental and social impacts. A transition to more sustainable and equitable food systems is urgently needed.
