enter shelters each year who are purebred.
This is Allie, a domestic
shorthair cat.

We adopted her from the
Humane Society.
This is Kit, a domestic shorthair kitten. He was adopted from
the Humane Society and then given to us when his owner no
longer wanted him.
75 PERCENT
The percentage of cats entering shelters each
        year that will be euthanized.
This is Daisy. She is a
Chihuahua and Miniature
Pinscher mix.

We adopted her from a local
dog rescue.
61 PERCENT

each year that will be euthanized.
Please consider adopting from a shelter or rescue
instead of buying from a pet store. If you are
looking for a certain breed there are many
wonderful breed specific rescue groups but do not
forget to check your local shelter first.
