Member Awards
Is there someone you think deserves special recognition for his or her
accomplishments on behalf of our Chapter or the public relations profession?
Take a moment to nominate the extraordinary person for the 2011 Member
Awards. Our Chapter’s outstanding award recipients will be honored at our

Member of the Year
The Member of the Year is given to an active, committed FPRA member who’s
numerous contributions of time, energy, enthusiasm and skill contributed greatly
to the chapter’s success.
Criteria include: the nominee must be a member in good standing of the Space
Coast Chapter, should have spent much time and energy in the areas of creative
planning and participation in chapter programs and projects; should possess a
professional attitude and support to fellow members; and should have helped
raise awareness of FPRA as the premier organization of public relations
professionals.

Doris Fleishman Award
The Doris Fleishman Award is given to honor the heretofore unrecognized
contributions that an individual FPRA member has made to the public relations
profession and/or to FPRA. In essence, this is an “unsung” hero award intended
to reward that individual who consistently provides support and assistance to the
Association.
The award was established to honor the achievements and contributions to Doris
Fleishman, business partner and wife of Edward L. Bernays, the “father” of public
relations. It honors those FPRA members, who, like Mrs. Fleishman, make
contributions to the field of public relations through consistent, tireless efforts. It
is meant to honor a member for his/her “behind the scenes” work and FPRA
volunteer efforts that go unnoticed by chapter members and are not recognized
by other awards programs.

2008 Chapter Awards of Achievement
The Board of Directors has instituted a process for awarding individual members
for their contributions throughout the year. The awards are described below, and
any members in good standing are eligible for nomination. Their fellow members
choose the award recipients. Please take a few minutes to read through the
categories and nominate one or more members, as you deem appropriate. The
Board will name the final decision at an upcoming meeting, and the awards will
be presented during the Roast & Toast. Awards do not have to be presented in
all categories.
Excellence in Chapter Service Award: will be awarded to members of more
than one year for outstanding contributions to a chapter management and/or
programming.
Chapter Service Awards: will be awarded to those members who always work
behind the scenes to assure success.
President’s Awards: will be awarded to members for distinguished chapter
service beyond expectations.*
*This award(s) will be decided by the current president, but suggestions are welcome.
