The Horizon Project is a global collaborative project that brings together classrooms to work on emerging technologies and their application to education. It focuses on six key trends identified in the Horizon Report 2007: user-created content, social networking, mobile phones, virtual worlds, new forms of scholarship, and educational gaming. Students are assigned to teams to work on one of the trends by collaborating on a wiki and creating an individual multimedia project. The goal is to explore what the future may look like with these technologies and foster international, collaborative learning.
