Social Networking is the grouping of individuals into specific groups, like small rural communities or a neighbourhood subdivision, where it is possible to meet other people and gather and share first-hand information and experiences. Capabilities Share photos and videos Share information Interact with other people without being face-to-face.
Why? Facebook Over 500 million active users worldwide. 9.2 million users in Australia  (Facebook, 2011) Twitter 175 million users worldwide 2.5 million users in Australia. (Twitter, 2011) Flickr 3’499 uploads in a minute. (Flickr, 2011)
