WHO CONDUCTS THE
EXAM?
The CV Raman Science Talent Search Contest is conducted by Vasai
Vidnyan Mandal Trust with an objective of helping students to get a
deeper insight into scientific terms, topics and principles.
Please note that all exam centres are in Mumbai only.

WHO CAN APPEAR FOR THE
EXAM?
The examination is conducted only for the students of Std 5 & Std 8
and is open for all students studying in SSC, CBSE and ISCE boards.
So, if your child is studying in Std 5 or Std 8 in the academic year
2015-16, he/she would be eligible for the exam in January 2016.
Moreover, the CV Raman Exam acts as a strong starting point for
the Homi Bhabha Junior Scientist Exam which is conducted for
students of Std 6 and Std 9. CV Raman Exam helps to build the
foundations of the conceptual base on which many other
prestigious science exams are based.

SYLLABUS
The CV Raman Exam does not have a fixed syllabus.
Students attempting the Std.5 examination are advised to go
through Std.5-6 textbooks of SSC, ICSE and CBSE boards.
Students attempting Std.8 examination should study Std.8-9 text
books of the same boards.
Study of question booklet given during enrollment is mandatory.
Reading newspapers is essential for general awareness of science
and environment related topics.

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE
EXAM?
Kamat’s Education Centre is an official mentoring centre for the CV
Raman Talent Search Contest. Forms can be filled directly through
us.
There is no need for any signature or stamp from school authorities,
as KEC is authorized to take registrations from the students.

Classroom
Coaching

CORRESPONDENCE COURSE
KEC undertakes the student’s registration for the exam. On
registering, KEC will immediately send the student an official
booklet prescribed by the examination authorities. KEC will also be
in charge of the logistics involving hall tickets and distribution of
certificates.
Study Notes – Compiled from SSC, CBSE and ICSE text books of the
relevant years. Revised every year to incorporate trends in the
exam.
Mock Test Papers – 5 Full Length CV Raman Style Test Papers with
OMR answer sheets and answer keys are provided. They are to be
self-evaluated.
Fee Structure: Rs.1800/- per student

CLASSROOM COACHING
Classroom coaching will provide all services mentioned in the
previous slide plus classroom tuition. Coaching will be take place at
Goregaon(East) and Vile Parle commencing from June 2015.
For students living outside Mumbai or unable to attend classroom
coaching, correspondence course is an ideal option. The material
used in classroom coaching and the correspondence course would
exactly be the same.

HOW TO JOIN ?
Download the KEC enrolment form from the given link:

Alternatively, you can download the CV Raman package (from the
downloads section to the right hand side of the website). You will
find the KEC form in that package as well.
PLEASE NOTE THAT this form would act as the registration for the
CV Raman Exam as well. No separate form needs to be filled for
registration purposes!
STEP 1

HOW TO JOIN ?
Once you have obtained the form, you need to print it out. Fill in all
the details as asked in the form. Also, attach a photograph of the
student.
(If for some reason, it is not possible for you to take a print out of
the form, you can write down all the necessary details as asked in
the form on a A4 size paper. This is not advisable, and should be
used only in unavoidable circumstances)

HOW TO JOIN ?
Draw a cheque for Rs.1800 in favour of “Kamat’s Education Centre”
Online mode of payment (direct bank transfer) is also available. If
you find that suitable, call us on 9821005500 or mail us at
kec.guru@gmail.com and we will get back to you immediately.

STEP 3

HOW TO JOIN ?
Courier the cheque along with the completed admission form to the
following address:

The completed admission form has to be sent to us by courier, even if
you have made an online payment.
Please DO NOT courier on the address mentioned on the form. Use the

STEP 4

HOW TO JOIN ?
Just drop us a mail at kec.guru@gmail.com stating that you have
dispatched the courier to our address.
As soon as we receive your courier, we will send the relevant
material on the address mentioned in the form that has been sent
by you.
All further couriers would also be sent on the same address.
