                                                                                           F   OOD parcels continue to be issued on a regular basis to
                                                                                               our destitute Service Users. The programme includes
                                                                                           some families whilst waiting for their benefits to be set up.

                                                                                                                                                   r. Gary STREETER, MP. On Friday, 15 April we were
                                                                                                                                                   privileged by receiving a visit from Mr. Gary STREETER,
                                                                                                                                           MP. Mr. STREETER is the MP for South West Devon, which
                                                                                                                                           doesn’t in fact include our Centre in Whimple Street nor the
                                                                                                                                           addresses of the majority of our Service Users (SU). (Our MP
                                                                                                                                           is Mr. Oliver COLVILE). He was elected to Parliament at the
                                                                                                                                           general election in April 1992, and was a junior minister in
                                                                                                                                           the last Conservative government. He is the Chair of the all-
                                                                                                                                           party Westminster Foundation for Democracy, which assists
                                                                                                                                           countries emerging from years of dictatorial rule in their
                                                                                                                                           transition to democracy, a cause about which he is
                                                                                                                                           passionate, and which has particular relevance in the current
                                                                                                                                           political upheavals amongst Arab nations.
                                                                                                                                           He was extremely interested in all our activities and met
                                                                                                                                           our staff, several volunteers and a number of our SU. He
                                                                                                                                           was understanding and sympathetic to the problems
                                                                                                                                           experienced by DCRS, particularly the increased work-load
                                                                                                                                           following the closure of the Plymouth office of Refugee

READ F OOD parcels continue to be issued on a regular basis to our destitute Service Users. The programme includes some families whilst waiting for their benefits to be set up. Dear Friends & Supporters, We’re still managing to keep within the budget provision and this is largely due to donations of food that we receive I should hope that everyone is well and truly rested after on a fairly regular basis. And of course we are always very the long Easter Holidays and the Royal Wedding! Didn’t pleased to receive them! she look stunning? It’s time now to focus on our future Over the past few months, the closure of some other and to do a little work! agencies in Plymouth has meant more Drop-in callers to our Centre. This has had a knock-on effect with an extra Refugee Week is looming upon us next month and we’ll be demand on refreshments. And this has had a marked affect holding our Open Day, and issuing our Annual Review for on our tea and coffee supplies so 2010. Something to look forward to! we recently had to appeal for donations! Mr. STREETER is the MP for South West Devon, which doesn’t in fact include our Centre in Whimple Street nor the addresses of the majority of our Service Users (SU). (Our MP is Mr. Oliver COLVILE). He was elected to Parliament at the general election in April 1992, and was a junior minister in the last Conservative government. He is the Chair of the all- party Westminster Foundation for Democracy, which assists countries emerging from years of dictatorial rule in their transition to democracy, a cause about which he is passionate, and which has particular relevance in the current political upheavals amongst Arab nations. He was extremely interested in all our activities and met our staff, several volunteers and a number of our SU. He was understanding and sympathetic to the problems experienced by DCRS, particularly the increased work-load following the closure of the Plymouth office of Refugee RIGHT: MR.
