2. What is a thriller?
Thrillers are films which evoke a range of feelings involving suspense,
excitement, surprise and Anxiety.
Thrillers build a story usually including bad events which eventually lead to
a suspense and a climax of the film. Restoring what has happened is
usually the purpose and what the protagonist is driven to do while a
antagonist strives to destroy the peace
A range of literary devices can be used such as plot twists , red herrings
and cliff-hangers and to help make my trailer have a powerful effect on the
reader I will try to incorporate one or more of these elemets.
3. Themes
The main focus with will drama thriller / Psychological drama, meaning
that the Trailer/ film will be made up some common themes such as
Mind games
Obsession
psychology
Plot twists
Disorientation
With held information
4. Setting, story and suspense
Having suspense is a key factor it as it keep audience on the edge of there
seat. It leaves them wanting more plus a pleasurable fascination with what
is going to come. Apprehension and tenson being created
Setting – a dangerous situation is what drives the plot line. A setting could
be a place scene as incorruptible. Which is then in threat as of the
dangerous events. Using ordinary towns and city's as locations.
The story revolves around a danger and the discovery of what has
happened and what is set to come. Putting some one innocent in the mix
of the actions.
6. Colours
As scene in the Pictures on the slide before there is a common theme of
darker colours such as black, this could be as it could represent
antagonists and the dark side of the story. Also a common element is
shadows which are mysterious and cover up something.
Other common colours are reds and blues, red can be used to resemble
danger and blue is a colour which can resemble a broad range of emotions
which can impact to the audience.
