objective of the open
House?
•Bringing awareness of services
to the community.
•Engaging and bringing in new
clientele.
•Getting the word out about the
agency.
• Creating and distributing palm
cards and flyer distributed out
the Brooklyn community.
Plan
• Mapping where do we want to target?
• Incentives that will be provided to new clients for coming in for
services.
•Getting donations from other agencies.
•Having a mobile van unit from community health network to
provide free HIV testing and screening.
•Bringing in a lawyer or paralegal to provide free legal counsel for
immigration, divorce and, etc. (Brooklyn legal counseling services.)
they have a mobile unit.
•Getting linkage agreement with other agencies.
• Getting volunteer from local school to come in and help with
OUTREACH.
•Tableling .
•Conducting 15-20 minutes workshops on the following topics.
•Nutrition.
•HIV.
•Breast Cancer.
•Domestic violence.
•Provide pre –made goodie bags as give away( condoms packets and
chocolate)
•Get local vendors to come in to conduct workshops with clients.

discussing what new in the Mental health and
other health related news.
•Post ad on facebook and twitter.
•Conduct workshop every month to keep clients
engage and interested in the services. Example.
Teen Domestic violence awareness month, Black
HIV Awareness month.
•Get permit to distribute flyers in the train
stations.
•Engage in other agency health fairs.
• Access local colleges and schools to gain
additional help from volunteers.

  2. Brooklyn Knows is affiliated with the DOH Department of health it would be great to contact them to see if they spread the word out to other agencies and partner with them. Although they mostly focus on HIV it would be great to work with them for future of implementing HIV services. Or contacting mental health services or organization for support.
