3. What is the PYP Exhibition?
• An inquiry that the students have an interest in.
• A culminating project for the PYP.
• An inquiry that uses students learning from
previous years.
• An experience that uses the essential elements
of the PYP.
• A demonstration of how students can take
action as a result of their learning.
• A celebration of who our students are as
learners.
5. Central Idea:
“Education is the most powerful
weapon which you can use to
change the world.”
Nelson Mandela
6. Students should demonstrate:
appreciation, commitment,
confidence, cooperation,
creativity, curiosity, empathy,
enthusiasm, independence,
integrity, respect and tolerance
7. How much time do students spend
working on the exhibition?
• Students began brainstorming ideas and
concepts in December.
• Students are now spending 8 weeks on
their inquiries.
• Students still have Maths and Language
daily (and all subject lessons as normal).
8. Presentation
• Students present the results of their
inquiries on April 22nd.
• Students will also perform on the
presentation night to demonstrate
their learning in all subjects.
9. Where are we now?
• Students have selected and researched
their issues.
• We are now in the ‘action’ stage where
students attempt to solve their issue.
• We are encouraging students to make
their action meaningful, and at least
some of it sustainable.
10. Assessment
• Rubrics assess the skills, processes and
attitudes.
• Though the end product is assessed the
emphasis is on the process.
