An art form called as pop art, gained extreme popularity in the second half of the twentieth
century. Among the many artists, who gained popularity due to their expertise in this form of
work, Andy Warhol is an important name worth to mention. Even though, he gained familiarity
among the people through his paintings of Campbell’s soup cans, he has also created hundreds

Blotted-line technique: When Warhol was in his college, he discovered the technique called as
blotted-line, wherein he brought together two pieces of paper and then drew the ink on one
page. Before the ink dried out, he would press the two pieces of paper together and the result
was a picture with irregular line and he then used to color it with watercolor. He gained
popularity by using this technique in many commercial advertisements.
Pop art: On his 32nd
year, Andy Warhol decided to get into the field of pop art and this style is
known to have started in England in the mid-1950s. This art work will have a realistic rendition
of everyday and popular items. Under this category, he began his work with coke bottles, but it
