1. What have you learnt about
technologies through the process
of constructing this product?
Kieran Hepworth
2. Technology
• Technology was key in helping me
produce my media product.
• During the process of producing my media
product, I learnt a lot about technology
and how to operate different software and
hardware.
3. Software I used to produce my
product:
• Adobe Photoshop (planning,
production)
• Microsoft Word (research, planning,
production)
• Microsoft Publisher (planning,
production)
• Microsoft PowerPoint (research,
planning, evaluation)
• Slideshare (evaluation)
• Blogger (research, planning,
production, evaluation)
• Dafont.com (research, production)
• SurveyMonkey.com (research,
planning, evaluation)
4. Hardware I used to produce my
product:
• Digital SLR Camera (planning, production)
• USB Memory Stick (research, planning, production,
evaluation)
• SD Card (planning, production)
5. What I have learnt:
When using Adobe Photoshop, I learnt an array of skills, such as how
to edit the levels and other properties of photos. I learnt how to edit
photos and crop them. I learnt how to cut photos out using magnetic
lines. I also learnt how to edit pixels on pictures.
When using Dafont.com I learnt how to download a font and then,
using extract all files, move the font files to the system, enabling me to
use the font in Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word and other
programmes.
When using Blogger, I learnt a lot about editing the format and
template of my blog and how to insert tools, such as a Google
translate button.
6. Macro Technology
It is fair to say that without any technology there is absolutely no
chance I could have completed my coursework. You could go as far
to say I could not have done any of my coursework without
technology.
I could have completed my coursework without websites such as
Dafont.com and SlideShare but I feel that using these websites vastly
improved the quality of my project.
Without the aid of an SD Card and Digital SLR Camera I think I would
not have been able to complete my course work to high standard,
although I could have probably have done the coursework poorly
using perhaps a mobile phone and USB lead. The SLR gave me high
quality images whilst the SD Card provided me with portable high
capacity storage.
7. Positives and Negatives
Positives: Negatives:
•SD Card allowed me to •Occasionally difficult to
take extra shots, improving implement ideas exactly in
the quality of my final programmes such as
image. Adobe Photoshop.
•USB allowed me to save •Using the free version of
my work and work on it in SurveyMonkey meant that
alternate places. I had to produce graphs
•SlideShare allowed me to for my results myself,
upload PowerPoint rather than have the
Presentations, such as this, website do it, which was
to my blog. very time consuming.
