Social Activism in an Information Society

  2. Some food (information) is better for you than others!
  3. It provides us with a way to communicate and interact with people we know as well as people we don’t know. Allows us to communicate with people far away instantly. Helps share cultural values, creates communal and civic value.
  4. Taking direct action to change civic inequality.
  5. Uses the internet and social media to support and promote social change.
  6. Passively and comfortably participating in civic awareness. Emphasis on informing people and sharing information.
  7. “Connecting and collaborating through online platforms:” without online activism, the masses may be uninformed about important global civic inequalities.
