1. How to: faker crochet cushion kootoyoo … click & stitch
2. Supplies: vintage crochet table cloth & a white bedsheet & cushion insert (any size).Be smart & use the seamed top & bottom of the sheet for your envelope closure…cutting corners is good (it adds to the fakery).
3. Top tip: I read somewhere that you should cut your fabric exactly the same size as your cushion insert. DON’T add seam allowance. It makes for a plumper cushion. Check your insert size. Let’s say it’s 50cm? We need 1 x 50cm square. You can cut precisely if you like or just rip & tear like I did. There’s something very satisfying about ripping & tearing fabric. You’ll also need a couple of rectangles to make the envelope style closure at the back of the cushion. The rectangles need to be 50cm wide and say about 35cm long.
4. Lay out your 50 cm ripped square & then cut your crochet table cloth to the same size (or a bit larger – you can trim after you’ve done the sewing).
5. Now lay your 30cm ripped strips on top of the sheeting & crochet layers. The strips should over lap a bit.
6. Pin well. We don’t want the cloth shifting during the sewing up.
