Introduction
 Capsicum =Greek word ‘kapto’ meaning “to bite” or “to swallow”.
 Common name: hot pepper, sweet pepper, bell pepper,
 Shimla mirch, paprika. Etc.
 Almost 400 types of chilli's are grown through out the world.
 Chilli is one of the most valuable crops of India.
 It is also used for vegetables, spices, condiments, sauces and pickles. Dry chillies are
used for curry powder.

2. Vegetable : 1. Fresh green capsicum contain more vitamin C than citrus.(Three times)
(Green chilli) : 2. Fresh red chilli has more vitamin A than carrot.( More than 700 mg)
3. Chillies are low in sodium and cholesterol free.(more than 7%)
4. Medicinal Properties are found. ( Capsiplex ,Cayenne.)

  • 2. Introduction  Capsicum =Greek word ‘kapto’ meaning “to bite” or “to swallow”.  Common name: hot pepper, sweet pepper, bell pepper,  Shimla mirch, paprika. Etc.  Almost 400 types of chilli's are grown through out the world.  Chilli is one of the most valuable crops of India.  It is also used for vegetables, spices, condiments, sauces and pickles. Dry chillies are used for curry powder.
