2. WHERE?
Poverty exists everywhere. Whether you know it or not.
Out of all Canada poverty occurs mainly in B.C.

below. United States is First.
3. HOW MUCH???
Poverty rate has decreased about 7% from 1970- 2005.
Last time the amount of homeless people were counted was in
2008. The number that was decided was 260 homeless people in
Saskatoon – 228 adults, and 32 children. And that’s just in Saskatoon
not all of Canada.
That number is also not including families with homes that are
starving.
4. WHY?
Poverty exists because some people are selfish and demanding.
Because of peoples high expectations of what they need to live causes the stores
to raise prices, because they know people will still buy. But some people can not
afford things at such high prices.
They also sometimes may not have got a good education in their childhood so
they are not able to get a job and make money.
There are many other reasons regarding personal decisions and each person has
a different story they may not share. But those are the main 3 reasons.
5. CHILD POVERTY
More than one seventh of Canadian Children live in poverty.
Children often live in poverty because their parents do. Or there
parents weren’t educated so they can’t get jobs. Often if parents aren’t
educated neither are their children.
