2. Objectives
• How successful is your advert?(print/television) Do you think it would appeal
to its target audience (why)? What are the strengths of your advert? Are you
happy with the quality?
• What areas of your advert need improving and why? How will this
evaluation inform your next project – what will you need to do next time
to make sure your final product is better than what you have created here?
• How would you rate your own participation in this project? Have you taken a
lead role or been told what to do? Did you offer much in the way of ideas?
Have you worked productively? Did you meet deadlines? What was your
organisation like? Have you managed to produce all the elements of the
project that were required?
• What targets will you set yourself when you begin your next project in
order to make sure you achieve the highest level possible?
4. How successful is your advert?(printDo you think it would appeal
to its target audience (why)? What are the strengths of your
advert? Are you happy with the quality?
I think that my print ad fits the desired purpose/s. This is because it is a
vibrant colour therefore eye-catching, it also will be on the back of a
bus, this means only motorists will see the print ad and as a result
nobody below our target audience will be able to see it. Also the lines
sweeping horizontally across the print ad simulates movement and
clearly and subliminally indicates that the user is meant to be active (or
have a busy lifestyle).
5. What areas of your advert need improving and why? How will this
evaluation inform your next project – what will you need to do next
time to make sure your final product is better than what you have
created here?
One thing I definitely need to improve is the background of my print
ad. I needed to be much more imaginative or actually consider the
outcomes and response to my print ad. Also I think my print ad was
good for the purpose and target audience; this is because it was to go on
the back of a bus (which only motorists would be able to see) and the
sweeping lines across the print ad simulates movement therefore
indicates clearly that the deodorant is for fast paced people/lives.
6. What targets will you set yourself when you
begin your next project in order to make sure you
achieve the highest level possible?
The only targets I want to set my self to achieve the highest possible
grades would be to concentrate more, and design my adverts with ideas
in mind (rather then leaving the outcome completely by chance).
8. How successful is your advert?(television) Do you think it would
appeal to its target audience (why)? What are the strengths of
your advert? Are you happy with the quality?
In my opinion, my television ad was effective (excluding the sound),
this is because the ad was short therefore few people would lose
interest. Also my ad had fast paced video clips, this will clearly
represent a fast paced lifestyle or love of sports. I am quite happy with
my ad although the lack of sound definitely affected it badly.
9. What areas of your advert need improving and why? How will this
evaluation inform your next project – what will you need to do next
time to make sure your final product is better than what you have
created here?
I think that the only area of my television ad that needs improving is the
sound. This only happened because there were few if not none good
quality sound effects free for download. So in the future I will record
my own effects or build my ad around the effects.
10. What targets will you set yourself when you
begin your next project in order to make sure you
achieve the highest level possible?
If I ever do a video ad I will build my ad around my available sound
effects.
11. How would you rate your own participation in this project? Have you taken a lead role or
been told what to do? Did you offer much in the way of ideas? Have you worked
productively? Did you meet deadlines? What was your organisation like? Have you
managed to produce all the elements of the project that were required?
In my opinion, I was the leader of the group, this is because I had to tell
my group members what to do to complete the task on time. This alone
was incredibly hard work. But on the other hand we completed each of
our tasks well within the time limit. Throughout the tasks I did have
some help; this was usually from either Patrick or Ollie and they would
help design and brainstorm the company and product logo. Although
the group had very different ideas most of the time, we worked together
and completed all of our allocated tasks- on time.
