The item master in PIM is the same item master used by Oracle Inventory.
User-defined product attributes and change management data are stored in the EGO tables.

Change Management feature set. It offers
workflow approval for each. This feature
is not supported in EBS, however you
might be able to utilize the ECO feature to
capture such information.

The PDH item creation process
is similar to EBS. It uses Item
Templates for setting Item
Attributes.
