What is ABC1?
ABC1 is a social class grading system. It is a way of categorizing people
into sections based upon their class.

3. ABC1
Zombieland and ABC1
Zombieland would fit into the categories of C1,C2 and D. After
analyzing Zombieland, I believe this is because the humour used will
mostly appeal to this type of audience. This is the kind of humour
they will be susceptible to on an everyday basis. On the other hand, it
will not appeal to group A because they are considered too academic
to enjoy this kind of film.

4. DEMOGRAPHICS
What demographics apply to Zombieland?
One of the main demographics that Zombieland will appeal to, is the
age range of a young adult – age 16 to 24. I believe that this audience
will feel that the humor is genuinely funny and they will follow the
plot of the film well.
I don’t personally believe that the film appeals to specifically either a
male or female demographic in particular, but actually appeals to
both. There are two main characters who are female and two who are
male, making the main characters gender equally waited.

5. CORE AUDIENCE
Who is the core audience?
The core audience for Zombieland is genre fans. I believe that the film portrays comedy
and horror in a lighthearted way that is easy to view. The comedy element will attract
fans as the characters are extremely funny and great actors of the genre. This combined
with the horror conventions creates a light hearted version of the two genres combined.
Furthermore, the horror genre is easily viewable as when the gore occurs, comedy
happens and lightens the mood again.
Additionally, if someone is a fan of one of the stars involved in Zombieland, this may be
an incentive to watch it. Fans can be very dedicated to the star they look up to, as a
result of this, they can be inclined to watch every film that they are in.
