During this brief review unit the major ideas of Locke, Montesquieu, Rousseau, and Voltaire will be covered. Students will look at their impact on the American Revolution and society today and this knowledge will carry over into their study and understanding of the French Revolution in the following unit.<br />GOALS AND OBJECTIVES<br />At the end of this unit students will be able to understand and explain the significance of the Enlightenment period in terms of the impact it had on social justice, economic ideas, government and monarchies.<br />IMPACT<br />Enlightenment ideas are present everywhere today from the Declaration of Independence, the set-up of our government, our legal system, and common thoughts and understanding about people and society.
