This is to relate my personal experience as an over-55 lawyer and regular "tweeter." I use Twitter (as well as LinkedIn) to establish my brand, promote clients and enhance the reputation of our national law firm in my geographic area of San Diego. My experience started with a law firm partner retreat where we were encouraged to open Twitter accounts. Although my followers are not legion (something over 100), my tweets have been retweeted by major publications and trade associations to massive audiences. I write all my own tweets. They are specifically crafted to garner attention and excitement in the reader. Although I cannot trace actual new client relationships to tweeting, yet, I have at least two that are potential clients as a result of one particularly popular tweet I will describe in the presentation.
