As I said earlier, I used Research Professional to find funders for this presentation. The University subscribes to Research Professional, it is a comprehensive research news and funding database which also sends personalised email alerts to registered users. All research active members of staff should set up an account. You can access this from a PC on campus without a password, as a guest, but you won’t be able to save any searches or set up your email alert. You can also set up your own registration, which means that you can save searches and use them to set up a targeted email alert based around your areas of interest. We don’t have time to demo Research Professional in this session, so if anyone is interested we can run a little demo after the presentation or you can get in touch with either myself or David I’m now going to hand over to David who will show you how to link to Research Professional from the Northumbria Research Support Blog.
The Society for Research into Higher Education is a UK-based international learned society which is interested in advancing understanding of higher education, through research and scholarship. Each year the Society invites applications from Newer Researchers to enter a research proposal for a small scale project. The successful SRHE prize winner receives a number of benefits from the Society in addition to the prize money awarded to fund the selected project. Entry is open to all and not restricted to current SRHE Members. There are 2 prizes of £3,000 available for a research project of one year’s duration. These awards are intended to provide support for early stage researchers in the field of higher education research to enable them to: undertake a research project in their own right develop research skills which will help advance their research career
