Overview of Gas Pipeline System  In 1981, the first developed gas field from Tien Hai – Song Hong basin with flowrate of 20 – 23 MMCM/year supplied to local industry.  In 1995, the first associated gas from Bach Ho field – Cuu Long basin – with flowrate 1 MMCM/day supplied to Ba Ria Power Plant.  In 2003, a first natural gas from Lan Tay field – Nam Con Son basin with flowrate of 2 MMCM/day supplied to Phu My Power Complex. By October 2008, the flowrate was increased to 20 MMCM/day.  In 2007, a first associated gas from PM3-CAA overlapping area supplied to Ca Mau Power Complex. Direction to Development • Maximize the utilization of existing pipeline system. • Expand gas pipeline system in Southeast and Southwest region. • Utilize gas reserves in the Central and Northern of Vietnam. • Interconnect regional/national gas pipeline systems. • Expand gas usage in other sectors such as resident, transportation, industry etc through low pressure and city gas pipeline system.
