  1. 1. We are going to talk about... UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES
  2. 2. SPAIN
  3. 3. ALHAMBRA DE GRANADA The Alhambra of Granada is located (as it own name tells) in Granada, Andalusia. It is a palace, but also a fortress, that was built by the Muslims that lived there at the Middle- Age. It was originally built in the year 889 AD as a small fortress, and was rebuilt in the year 1333 to be what it is now. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its amazing architecture.
  4. 4. TEIDE NATIONAL PARK The Teide National Park is located in Tenerife, in the Canary Islands of Spain. It is centered around the Teide volcano, the highest place of Spain and the world’s third- tallest volcanic structure. It covers an area of 18990 hectares. It’s a very important tourist attraction for Spain. In fact, in the year 2016 it received more than 4.000.000 visitors, beating a historical record! For all this reasons, it is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but also one of the 12 wonders of Spain. Did you know... That the Teide National Park has more than 1500 species of animals, of which over 40% of them are endemic to the Canary Islands?

  6. 6. HISTORIC CITY OF SUCRE Sucre,the first capital of bolivia,was founded by the Spanish in the first half of the 16th century. Its many well-preserved 16th century religious buildings, such us San Lázaro,San Francisco and Santo Domingo, the style of architecture (based on the style of European architecture) make of it a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  7. 7. NOEL KEMPFF MERCADO NATIONAL PARK The national park is one of the largest (1,523,000 ha) and most intact parks in the amazon Basin. The park boasts an evolutionary history dating back over a billion years to the Precambian period. An estimated 4,000 species of flora as well as over 600 bird species and viable populations of many globally endangered or theatened vertebrate species live in the park.
