Qt is a high-level C++ application framework that allows for cross-platform development. It uses a MVC architecture with its API wrapper libirail allowing for asynchronous programming. Qt can be used on platforms like Maemo, MeeGo, Symbian and potentially desktop. In the future, Nokia is partnering with Microsoft and will be switching its smartphones to Windows Phone 7 and keeping Series 40 on basic phones, while support for Symbian, Maemo and MeeGo remains uncertain.
