2. What is XP3?
XP3 is a professional, commercial grade, industrial strength, all-in-one fuel enhancer that
upgrades multiple performance characteristics and functional properties of fuels.
What makes XP3 different than other fuel additives?
XP3 only contains pure and concentrated compounds, making it different than regular
consumer grade additives, which are typically filled with diluted & non-functional
ingredients due to the retail consumer marketplace they were intended for.
What are the functional compounds in XP3?
Purifiers, cleaners, combustion improvers, lubricators, stabilizers, conditioners,
performance boosters, corrosion inhibitors and water dispersants.
What is the origin and history of XP3?
XP Lab is the manufacturer of XP3, based out of California, with origins dating back to
1989. XP Lab initially specialized in providing fuel related solutions for the marine, ocean
freighter, mining and industrial markets, with products that improved combustion,
protected against water problems and maintained stability and integrity of the fuel during
transportation, transfers and in bulk storage tanks.

3. Diesel Fuels and Diesel Engine Owners
Diesel engine owners are more informed about costs, maintenance and extra care required
with diesel powered equipment.
Owners operators and mechanics of diesel equipment already know the benefits of using fuel
additives, and most of them are likely current users or seasonal users of diesel additives.
By helping these clients understand the differences between industrial strength, commercial
grade and retail consumer grade products, you are providing them a valuable service by
educating them on how and why XP3 helps in the operation and protection of their diesel
engine investments.
Adding XP3 to diesel fuels upgrades regular diesel into ultra-premium status, providing
improved operation and protection against all fuel related problem they could experience
without protection.
The most common question is how can you the difference between industrial grade and retail
grade additives. The biggest indicator of a consumer grade product is its weak concentration,
low dosage ratio and MSDS listing main ingredients as fillers.
XP3's treatment ratio is 1:4000, whereas most consumer grade retail products range from
1:250 to 1:2000 and up to 80% of their content is filler agents to give the appearance of a larger
bottle for a perceived better value for the uneducated retail consumer.
XP3 improves combustion and ignition.
XP3 increases torque and horsepower.
XP3 reduces soot, smoke and unburnt hydrocarbons.
XP3 lubricates the entire fuel system.
XP3 makes engines run smoother.
XP3 improves fuel economy.
XP3 prevents gelling and filter plugging in cold weather operation.

4. Fuel Savings
As a combustion improver, XP3 burns more of the available fuel as power, creating less waste
by increasing the combustion energy value (BTU) extracted out of the fuel.
To validate fuel savings, dyno testing and emissions testing is done to show increased power
(burning more of the fuel as energy) and decreased unburnt hydrocarbon emissions (less
pollution).
In 2015, an independent dyno test of XP3 was conducted at Wall’s Rod Custom, on a 2011
GM 6.6 Duramax diesel.
TEST 1
Baseline fuel, no treatment 834 ft. lbs.
TEST 2
XP3 All-in-One treated 845 ft. lbs. (an increase of 11 ft. lbs.)
TEST 3
XP3 HP Cetane treated 870 ft. lbs. (an increase of 36 ft. lbs.)
Other benefits of improved combustion are: improved starting, idling and throttle response,
improved ignition quality of the fuel, improved atomization characteristics, reduced regen
cycles, extended life of DPF systems, reduced DEF consumption and reduction in premature
engine oil degradation due to less contaminant seepage through the piston rings.

5. Water & Moisture Control (See the water dispersion test video for details).
XP3’s water & moisture control technology breaks down agglomeration deposits of
suspended moisture and free-standing water found in fuels and fuel tanks, into thousands of
sub-microscopic particles for complete elimination, with no interference and undetected
throughout the combustion process.
Due to it’s moisture controlling features, fuels are always protected against the negative
effects of ethanol and bio-blended fuels, which are highly hygroscopic, attracting more
moisture into the fuel and exposing it to a higher risk of condensation, accelerated fuel
degradation, oxidation, phase separation and reducing its energy value.
XP3 is a soluble dispersant with both fuel and water and eliminates conditions for algae,
microbes, mold, fungus, slime, biomass and bacteria can grow and contaminate fuels.
Corrosion Inhibitor
XP3 prevents corrosion and formation of rust, as well as prevents formation of sulfuric acid.
Note: A droplet of water in its natural state will expand hundreds of times its size in a
combustion chamber. By breaking down water droplets into sub-microscopic particles, the
water is able to pass through the combustion process, undetected and without any issues.
X P 3 . c aPage 5 Water & Moisture
6. Detergent / Cleaner (See the detergency efficacy test video for details).
XP3 has a high detergency value, which means it helps clean out carbon, varnish, soot, sludge
and gum formations on internal engine components.
• Unplugs clogs from existing deposits.
• Disperses pre-existing sediments and solids in the fuel.
• Prevents build up of new deposits in fuel tanks.
• Protects against oxidation, corrosion and rusting.
• Protects against premature fuel pump failures and keeps injectors moving freely.
• Compatible and safe with all types of fuel lines, rubbers, seals and gaskets.
Clean Burning (See the burn test video for details).
XP3 helps fuels burn cleaner by creating a more complete burning of the fuel. Not only does
this help reduce emissions, it also keeps the entire post-combustion systems in your vehicle
operate better, stay cleaner longer, reduces DEF consumption and extends service intervals
on DPF equipped engines.
X P 3 . c aPage 6 Detergent Cleaner
7. Lubricator
• Lubricates and protects the entire fuel system. (Upper cylinder walls, intake valves, egr’s,
rings, common rails, fuel pumps, injector pumps and injectors.)
• Protects against injector fouling, injector failures and injector sticton.
• Lubricity test results of XP3D are;
BOLCE Test, from 360 to 300
HFRR Test, from .610 to .460
(Lower number = higher lubricity value)
Today’s Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel is more abrasive and contains less lubricity than previous
generations of diesel. Reducing sulfur content in diesel fuels is mandated by legislation for
reducing pollution, but a side effect is less lubricity and a higher need for after-market
additives to protect against premature wear of internal engine components.
Note: Contrary to popular belief, the sulfur content in diesel fuel is not a lubricating agent. It
is the manufacturing process of removing sulfur from the fuel that causes a lower lubricity
value in the diesel.
X P 3 . c aPage 7 Lubricator
8. Cold Weather Protection
• Prevents wax formation, build up, gelling & filter clogging.
• Disperses water and moisture caused by condensation.
• Improves cold starting and idling.
• Improves flow, cloud point, pour point and cold filter plug point
XP3D provides up to 10 degrees of additional cold weather protection.
XP3DW provides up to 35 degrees of additional cold weather protection for mission critical applications.
Fuel Stabilizer & Anti-Oxidant
• Keeps fuels clean and fresh.
• Stabilizes and protect fuels.
• Upgrades fuel integrity for added longevity during storage and transport.
• Protects against fouling and phase separation.
• Keeps fuels from degrading.
X P 3 . c aPage 8 Cold Weather Protection & Stabilizer
9. Environment Friendly & Safe
Reduces unburnt hydrocarbons, vanadium pentoxide, exhaust smoke and polluting
emissions.
Does not contain any alcohol, kerosene, aromatics, naphtha, sulfur, potentially harmful
compounds or any fillers whatsoever.
XP3D and XP3G are classified as safe, non-hazardous and biodegradable products.
Safe with all manufacturer’s warranties.
R.O.I.
Input costs for XP3 ranges from 2 to 4 cents per treated litre, depending on the formulation
and volume of fuel being treated.
The return on investment on fuel savings alone is immediate, providing you a double or
better than input cost return in extra operating time. Extended return on investment is
gained through longer equipment life, reduced maintenance costs, delayed viscosity
breakdown of engine oils, extended maintenance cycles, reduced costs and problems
associated with emissions systems and consumables, less equipment breakdown and less
downtime.
X P 3 . c aPage 9 Environment Friendly
10. Sample Financial ROI Calculation
For illustrative purposes, we assume that fuel cost is at $1 per litre and the test vehicle gets
10L/100km with regular, non-treated fuel.
Non treated fuel fill up
$75 for 75 litres
750 KMs travelled on the tank
10 cents per KM for fuel
XP3 treated fuel fill up
$77.25 to fill up with 75 litres of fuel and XP3 ($2.25 for XP3 treatment)
810 KMs travelled on the tank (60 additional KM’s)
9.5 cents per KM for fuel & XP3
8% better fuel economy
Summary: It would cost you $6 in extra fuel (vs $2.25 for XP3 treatment) to travel 60
additional KMs with untreated fuel, with no added protection or benefits from XP3.
Conclusion: It costs more to not use XP3, in lost fuel savings alone. The minimum fuel
economy increase required for full ROI is only 3%.
