1. My CLIL Experience
I think CLIL is a new way of learning not only languages and new contents, but also
different approaches to learning and teaching.
My CLIL experience has been awesome; it started last year when my English teacher
told us that we would have some Biology lessons in English. My classmates and I
were scared: we thought we were not good enough at English to use it to study
Biology.
We started this new experience with some doubts but, lesson after lesson a brand
new world opened for us. Our Biology teacher gave us some glossaries and, with the
help of colourful slides and links to interesting websites where we also played some
games, the new word of English and Biology opened its doors to us.
We have used English for two years to study both Biology and Physics and we have
learnt a lot.
The most interesting experiences, in my opinion, were the two mobilities: we were
hosted in Luxembourg and in Spain. We lived in host families and we took part in
some interesting workshops in which we had the opportunity to practice our English
and the competences we had acquired. We made new friends, we visited interesting
places and we came back home enriched by what we had done.
I have loved this experience because it has brought something new and incredible in
my life and I wish I could do something similar again.
