2. Ancient Rome
Rome is the capital of Italy, as you know ancient times.
But it has changed a lot over the past hundred
years. The ancient Romans believed in gods, as the
Greeks did. They had a lot of ancient buildings. The
land of Italy was controlled by the Romans. All of
the Romans made things to their gods. They also
made lots of sacrifices to their gods.
3. Jupiter
Jupiter was the king of the Roman
gods. He was the god of the sky
could hurl lightning bolts from the
sky.
4. Juno
Juno was Jupiter’s wife. She
was also a goddess, and she
was the goddess of women
and fertility. Her symbols
were a peacock and a
pomegranate.
5. Mars
Mars was the god of war.
He was the strongest and
most fearsome god, beside
Jupiter. He is also the son
Jupiter and Juno.
6. Venus
Venus was the goddess of
love and beauty. She is also
the daughter of Juno and
Jupiter.
7. Neptune
Neptune was the powerfulgod of the sea. His symbol to
show that he was the god was his trident.

8. Vulcan
Vulcan was the blacksmith of the gods and forged
them weapons. He was also the god of the
underworld and volcanoes.
9. Mercury
Mercury was the messenger of the gods. He had wings
on his helmet and his sandals, which allowed him to
travel very fast when the gods sent him. He was also
the god of travelers and tradesmen.
10. The Collosseum
The Collosseum is an old building that is located in
Rome, Italy. It was built a very long time ago. And
by very long ago, I mean A.D. 70. That was when it
was started to be built. It was finished in A.D. 80.
It was an elliptical amphitheatre. Many people and
animals have died there.

form of an ellipse.
Amphitheatre…………………….. an oval or round building
with tiers of seats around a central open area, as
those used in ancient Rome for gladiatorial contests.
