Rigorous Employee Selection
1. Minimum requirements
        Full time, blue badge (exempt or nonexempt)
        At least 1 year with Intel
        “Successful” or higher in last performance review
        Ability to commit for full program duration
        Manager reference and consent
        Criminal background check & volunteer/mentorship agreement
2. Desired qualities
        Service motivation
        Adaptability, flexibility, pro-activity
        Knowledge of local language, culture
3. Specific skills
        Specific content knowledge for one+ of five roles:
              Network engineer
              Software engineer
              Teacher trainer
              Technical trainer
              Project manager

IESC Project Summary: Kenya

Initial project visits to Thika and Rusinga Island . The Kageno
Project on Rusinga features mobile lab with CMPCs and solar
chargers. Karibu Centre in Thika has a pre-school for children from
nearby slums and a program for teenage mothers. Blog links:

Deployed 12 CMPCs and repaired existing CMPCs at two locations
and trained 4 IT staff

Rebuilt 14 computers, trained 2 IT staff, revamped wireless            Kenya

  • 24. IESC Project Summary: Haiti Haiti Zynga.org, FATEM 2H’11 Installed a computer lab with 35 classmate PCs in new English immersion school in Mirebalais sponsored by Zynga. Trained 150 students on PC basics and worked with 6 teachers and 5 school administrators on computer skills, classroom collaboration software, and internet research skills. Education Service Corps
