  10. 10. 10 Challenges in Community • People come and go • Someone who only need other to solve their problem whether in work or study • Someone who not only need help but want to help other • People who only need killing their time • People who want to make friends • People who want to be famous :-) • Silence people
  11. 11. 11 Maintain Valuable Community When a good community grows, it becomes worse in two ways …. (premise): • more recent arrivals don't have as much of whatever quality distinguished the original members • the large size of the group makes people behave worse, because there is more anonymity in a larger group
  12. 12. 12 Maintain Valuable Community • Speak the same language • Invest in getting to know • Leverage the community • Quality over quantity • Engage online and offline • Provide what community looking for

  14. 14. 14 Maintain The Good Spirit • Close the community to newcomers, at certain level – Do you want a community with a great community spirit but less members? • Enforce strict rules – Do you want a great community spirit but with high moderation costs? • Design and develop specific nudges – Do you want a great community spirit but with a never-ending number of technical tweaks to make?   17. 17. 17 Dealing With Negative Person & Conflict Resolution • Listen – If a community member making complaint or left and has a clique of friend backing him/her up situation can be escalated. – Follow the entire conversation to see where it began and what led to the complaint
