Miss Guiles welcomes students to 2nd grade and outlines the classroom theme of trees. She introduces the TREE values of truth, respect, excellence, and eagerness. The behavior system encourages positive behavior through a chart and rewards. Homework is assigned Monday through Thursday with reading nightly, and weekly spelling and Bible tests. Students have various specials classes throughout the week. Upcoming fall events include a field trip to the beach and a walkathon, while spring events include a character parade and field day.
3. Our Theme: TREES
Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the one who obeys the law of the LORD. He doesn’t follow the advice of evil people. He doesn’t make a habit of doing what sinners do. He doesn’t join those who make fun of the LORD and his law. Instead, he takes delight in the law of the LORD. He thinks about his law day and night. He is like a tree that is planted near a stream of water. It always bears its fruit at the right time. Its leaves don’t dry up.
