  4. 4.  Evaluating the work of the people is the act of showing the writers weak and strong sides of his or her work  Criticizing includes both appreciating the strong sides and commenting on some one’s work  Therefore this article review is mainly focuses on the general overview of the article about impact of using technology facilities in teaching English language 4
  5. 5. BODY OF THE REVIEW  According to Northey, 2005 the body of the review is the part which analyze the key points made in the article  This is the heart of the critical review which mention and evaluates the key points explained in the article  When we observe the introduction part of this article,  it clearly explains the role of modern technological facilities for our new globalization era life and teaching- learning English language education 5
  6. 6. The title of the article is contemporary for the article to collect the relevant data and to come up with the expected findings  When we see the word technology; in this globalization era, it has direct relation in the process of teaching – learning English language  Because nowadays teaching – learning English language needs using different types of authentic and self –access materials including modern technological facilities to foster or enhance students’ independent learning 6
  7. 7.  Background of the article  it should provide readers with the background information for the research  This article does not provide sufficient background information to allow readers to understand the context well and  does not provide proper acknowledgement of the previous work 7
  8. 8.  The statement of the problem is missed in this article  It should be included because it is an important part which describes the context for the study and answers the questions why does this research need to be conducted.  Another important component which is not clearly stated in this article is specific objectives 8
  9. 9. Any researcher has to set his or her own objective before conducting research  because it define the ends which the researcher seeks to bring about a result of completing the research undertaken and  it summarize what is to be achieved by the study  In the article, the researcher didn’t identify the aim of the study.  So, the author of this article missed one of the important components of the study  Scope: Department of English language, college of arts, Al-Jabal Al-Gharbi university in Libiya. 9
  10. 10.  When we came to the literature review part of this article, it is a description of the literature relevant to a particular field or topic  It gives an overview of what has been said, who the key writers are and what questions to be asked  In this article the researcher used different related literature adequately and tried to cite many books as much as possible 10
  11. 11.  The literature review parts clearly explain the effect of using technology with each of the English language skills  In addition, It states that English language skills with their classification, definition and technical ways to improve them  But what we want to criticize here is that the researcher didn’t include the disadvantages of modern technology facilities for learning English language learning because everything in this world has merits and demerits 11
  12. 12. Methodology is the heart of any research  It should include  study design,  techniques  study setting,  population of the study,  sampling techniques,  sample size and  data collecting tools 12
  13. 13.  Research design  Sampling technique Missed  sample size  The researcher used only questionnaire to collect data from respondents  He should use more than one data collecting tools to strengthen the study and  to cross check the data which were collected from different respondents 13
  14. 14.  Data analysis procedure, the ways of data analyzing, ways of concluding and recommending is not properly done in the study  These the listed things are not explained in detail manner.  Basically, the researcher should explain each and every point in the methodology in the way the readers can understand his/her work clearly  But in this article the research didn’t do this and this may create confusion to the readers 14
  15. 15.  Reference part of the article is cited well  So it is international accepted article the citation is standardized in the way people learn something from it  It is written in alphabetical order Conclusion  the title that the researcher has selected is very interesting and manageable to the researcher 15
  16. 16.  He explained that his attention to use technology facilities to foster student’s English language skills  The language that is used by the researcher is not that much difficult to the readers  The background of the article does not provide sufficient background information to allow readers to understand the context well and does not provide proper acknowledgement of the previous work 16
  17. 17.  Statement of the problem is missed in this article  In addition to this general and specific objectives are not stated clearly  Also the methodology part of the article has its own shortcomings  It didn’t include research design, sampling technique and sample size in the way the readers can understand clearly and the reference is cited in the way internationally accepted manner 17
