3. Dessert as an
Art
Dessert is a course that typically comes at the end of a
meal, usually consisting of sweet food. The first desserts
were candies, made from raw honeycomb and dried dates.
It was not until the Middle Ages, when sugar was
manufactured, that people began to enjoy more sweet
desserts, but even then sugar was so expensive that it
was only for the wealthy on special occasions.

My name is MaddieHankin and my presentation is : How to Make Tantalizing Truffles that Taunt your Taste buds.
This presentation is made for those people who love to bake understand how to create no-bake chocolate truffles. The steps and ingredients are included for you to thoroughly understand the stages behind the goodness.
Desert is one of the most favorite meals of anyone’s day. Dessert normally comes at the end of the meal however these delicious treats are great to have at any time of the day! The manufacturing of sugar has made individuals truly experiment with many different types of sweets including chocolate truffles.
This info-graph demonstrates the popular demand of chocolate. Chocolate is one of those types of foods that is delicious with anything you mix it with.
These no – bake truffles are extremely simple only requiring 3 ingredients. These ingredients can be found anywhere from your local food store to the small convenient store on the corner.
Along with the 3 easy ingredients, there are 3 simple steps that go along with them. Once you mix the cream cheese and cookie crumbs, you need to shape them into small circular balls. After they are shaped, you are to dip them in melted chocolate to intensify for a more chocolaty taste. Finally, they need to be placed in the refrigerator for about one hour or until they are firm. These treats can be left in the fridge until they are ready to be served.
Not everything is as easy as it looks. Dipping the chocolate on the truffles is a bit harder than it seems. Here is an instructional video to help demonstrate the easiest way to go about the dipping process.
One other setback! Mixing the cookie crumbs and cream cheese may seem like a no brainer. However the consistency of both of these ingredients are extremely tough to mix together. In order to smooth this process up, you need to make sure you really crush the crumbs up until they are as fine as they can be, and allow the cream cheese some time to settle before trying to mix it in. This way the crumbs such a texture that will easily blend with the soft cream cheese together.
This deliciousness isn’t for everyone. Some people love sweets but also love to be healthy. For those people, I have included healthy alternatives to this dessert. Instead of using cream cheese, there is something called Neufchatel cheese. Neufchatel cheese is unripened cheese, made with cow milk, and if left to ripen, it will develop a soft, bloomy rind, like brie and is used because it is only 23% milk fat with a higher moisture content while cream cheese is 33% milk fat content with a less moisture content. Next is the Oreo cookies. Oreo cookies are a more popular type of cookie but now there is a brand called WhoNu that creates chocolate chip cookies as well as oreo cookies as well. These cookies have as much fiber as a bowl of oatmeal, as much calcium and vitamin D as an 8 oz glass of milk and as much vitamin C as a cup of blueberries. Lastly the Baker’s Semi sweet Chocolate chips. One might want to use carob chips or cocoa nibs instead . Carob is a non-chocolate confection sold in the same size and shape as chocolate chips that look, melt and have a taste similar to semi-sweet chocolate chips without having any chocolate in them. Coca nibs are dried and roasted pieces of the cocoa bean that has a crunchy texture that can be used for chocolate flavor..
Once these truffles covered in the melted chocolate you are able to add extra toppings if you’d like. Some of these topping include cocoa powder, coconut, nuts, hard candy pieces, graham cracker crumbs or crushed cookies.
