The levels of performance are described using: – Indicators– Focus Areas– Performance Features– Sample Activities. In determining performance, the relevant Indicators are interpreted using the Focus Areas and Performance Features, in conjunction with the performance variables
One of the features available in moodle is the ability to create quizzes for your topics. These quizzes can be used as both a formative assessment, or part of a summative assessment. The use of quizzes can provide students instant feedback on their knowledge and be used to prevent further progression in the course until they have been completed successfully, meaning students can only progress after demonstrating understanding of previous topics. The quiz you see here has a variety of options for answering questions. These are drop down boxes, close questions and multiple choice questions.Quiz generators can be used to randomise questions from a bank and shuffle answers within questions, so two quizzes on the same topic never look alike.
The quiz on this slide is built in a table which requires students to fill in the blanks after converting between different commonly used units for measuring volume.Students are given an example on the top line and then expected to fill in their answers in the boxes provided.
The best thing about moodle quizzes? They are self marking!!!!Quiz scores will export to a marks book for ease of capturing and storing student results. The uppermost red circle shows where our learner can see when they started and completed the quiz, how long the quiz took to complete and their score. The middle circle shows that all of their answers are marked in the table, so they can see how they performed on each individual question. The circle at the bottom left give the learner a quick review of their score. As described previously there are many different options for creating quizzes in moodle They can be MC, SA, cloze or calculated answers. There are also options for providing feedback, limiting time to complete quizzes and wheteher or not to display correct answers to students.
