ETHICS WHAT IS IT?
Ethics, also known as moral philosophy, is a
branch of philosophy that involves
systematizing, defending and recommending
concepts of right and wrong conduct.

Nowadays ethics may be divided into four
areas:
 meta-ethics
 normative ethics
 applied ethics
 descriptive ethics

SHORT DEFINITION OF GMF
 Genetically modified foods are foods derived
from genetically modified organisms (GMOs). GMOs
have had their DNA genetically changed by genetic
engineers.
 Scientists first discovered that DNA can transfer
between organisms in 1946.
 The first genetically modified plant was produced in
1983, using an antibiotic-resistant tobacco plant.

 In 2000, with the creation of golden rice,
scientists genetically modified food to
increase its nutrient value for the first time
 This is made to improve the production in
this crops and also to change for example
their nutrients so it can be healthier and
make our meals more balanced.

 The controversy in GMF is a dispute over the
relative advantages and disadvantages in GMF.
 The key areas of controversy related to
genetically modified GMF are:
 Risk of harm from GM food,
 The effect of GM crops on the environment,
 The impact of GM crops for farmers, including
farmers in developing countries,
 The role of GM crops in feeding the growing
world population,

 Cloning is the process of producing similar
populations of genetically identical
individuals that occurs in nature when
organisms reproduce asexually.
