• Match the “Desired” state

• Arrive at what you want
– Goals have to be written & re-written to help
the brain stay focused /bring to the forefront

3. Decide what you want to achieve.
– Recognize where you are now
– Multi Sensory
– Understand the Cascading effects
– Be willing to keep fine tuning the goal
– Ask questions – 5 W (What, Why, When, Who,
Where)
– Write very clearly & be explicit in your choice of
words
– Use “I” & Emotions
– Visual representation of your goals – Posters/
Photos etc.

• Energizing Effect & Motivation
• Increased use of our Knowledge
• Negative thought patterns from the
subconscious
• Establish your goals in accordance to ones
values
• Need for a healthy Body & mind

5. Goals must be “SMART”
• S- Specific :- Well defined target –
Needs to help provide direction, purpose..
• M- Measurable:- If you can not measure
it, you can not achieve it. Measure in
absolute terms (Kg, hrs, nos. …..)
• A- Actionable :- Goal should be
actionable – Develop a Strategy
• R- Realistic:- need to be challenging &
stretching but not unrealistic that they
are unachievable – Also relevant.
• T- Time bound :- Starting date and
finishing date should be fixed by you.

6. Consider what obstacles might
block your way
• List every one you think of.
• Some obstacles may be real others
may be imaginary.
• You must conquer both.
• Examine the obstacles at one time
and think about how you might solve
each problem.

7. List the people and organizations.
• Who could help you achieve your goal.
• Decide specifically what you will ask to
them.

8. Consider what information you
need that you don’t have.
• Where will you get it ?
• What could you Read ?
• Who could you talk to ?
• What seminars could attend ?

plan.
• What are the priorities involved ?
• Which task must be done first ?

• 1) A pessimistic attitude.
• 2) Fear of failure.
• 3) Lack of ambition.
• 4) Fear of rejection.
• 5) Procrastination.
• 6) Low self-esteem.

11. How to stay focused on
important goals
• Stick it everywhere - Read every day.
• Eliminate activities that don’t help.
• Discuss priorities/progress with
Family, Friends or colleagues as often
as possible.
• Creative Visualization – Live a day
